Y'pheluth

'Y'pheluth' was a contribution to 'The Ocean as Archive', an exhibition and performance event responding to the dialectical qualities of the ocean and its topics such as sea migration, oceanic residues and the watery Anthropocene. 

The sounds of the Y’pheluths, an extinct but recently brought back small snapping shrimp, can only be perceived in close proximity. 

The installation is about framing sound and listening to pictures. Whether or not the Y'pheluths are actual creatures, is not perfectly clear.
